Presenters: Lucia and Vicki
In this show, adult English language students in their second week of GO4 talk about their last holidays. (GO4 is a pre-intermediate level general English course.) Lucia and Vicki, best friends from Argentina, chose the topic, prepared interview questions, introduced the show, interviewed their classmates, and chose the linking jingle from Garageband. A big thank you to Lucia and Vicki for a great job hosting the show! And farewell and good luck back in Argentina (they were only in the UK for 3 weeks). We hear interviews with: Fahad (Saudi Arabia)
Interview questions included: Where did you go on your last holiday/vacation?
If you are listening in class, you could ask a partner the interview questions, then choose one or two of the speakers and note their answers. The show was recorded in class, on group teacher, Geoff's, Apple MacBook Pro computer with the program Garageband. The Garageband jingle used is "Campfire". After editing in Garageband, the audio volume was leveled using the program Levelator (www.gigavox.com/levelator), and converted to MP3 using LameBrain (check at www.macupdate.com). The photo was edited in Adobe Fireworks. Please listen to our discussion and add your comments on our blog page at bardwellroad.podomatic.com. This show was produced at the Bardwell Road Adult Centre, St Clare's, Oxford, UK |

hello im very happy because you are the first argentinian i have listen...in the photo you seems to be a very good person so i wanted to have your mail..thak you..
I`m Jimena from Argentina (Tucuman)
I think the interview was interesting, there were persons from different places of the world and also with different cultures.
May be it would be better if you change some questions, but it was very funny!
Good luck!
hi there! I think it´s really great what you are doing.
it is very nice to enter to this site and find a young argentinian... i´m happy for you.
here i leave yo my mail and nick name just for to contact me and tell me a little more about this.... bye!
we are from Argentina Tucuman, and we have already listen the interveiw about yours holidays. We really would like to go on holidays with friends but we are still young to get ecoraged about some things, so we have to wait some years to do it..
We would like to tell you some of the tipical places where we go on holiday. Here in our province we have lots of beautiful montains with small towns, and there we have lots of interesting activities to do, so much of the people like going there, and some of them have an own house to spend there more time on their free time. But also, some people go to the beach, in our country, their are far from our province, but we have beautiful places to visit, like, Mar del Plata, Pinamar, Carilo, and many others..
perhaps some day, you can visit our beautiful places..
kisses...
Barby and Consu!

Thanks for listening! I'm sure you'll get the chance to travel abroad soon...

It all sounds really good.
I'd like to comment that it's good to travel IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY too. The American writer Henry David Thoreau, writing about his hometown, Concord, said "I have traveled extensively in Concord". Here's what the American writer Kurt Vonnegut had to say about that:
"Henry David Thoreau said, "I have traveled extensively in Concord.".... [W]hat he said about Concord is what every child feels, what every child seemingly must feel, about the place where he or she was born. There is surely more than enough to marvel at for a lifetime, no matter where the child is born."
