Presenter: Deniz (from Italy)
Topic: Cars and driving

In this show, adult English language students in an upper-intermediate level general English course in the UK talk about cars and driving.

Deniz, from Italy, is this week's presenter. He chose the topic and with the help of his classmates, planned the show content (which followed on nicely from class studies during the week), with each person volunteering a sub-topic to talk about. Dennis introduced and closed the show, interviewed his classmates, and selected the jingle used to link the sections of the show.

Suliman, from Saudi Arabia, talks about differences between car use in his country and the UK

Natsupa, from Thailand, and Shayma, from the United Arab Emirates, talk about getting a driving license in their countries

Joey, from China, gives advice on the correct way to start off from a parked position

Tuptim, from Thailand, talks about how her mother saved her from a near-death experience behind the wheel

As usual, the show was recorded in class, on second teacher, Geoff's, Apple PowerBook computer with the program Garageband 3. After editing in Garageband, the audio volume was leveled using the program Levelator (www.gigavox.com/levelator), and converted to MP3 using LameBrain (check at www.macupdate.com).

This show is produced at the Bardwell Road Adult Centre, St Clare's, Oxford, UK
